We interviewer several builders when we decided to build our new home, trying to find the right fit Price was not our primary concern, feeling comfortable with someone and trusting them was. Bob Sandberg said something to us after our first meeting that struck a chord. " We are just acquaintances now. If I am luck enough to build your home, we will be friend when it's done." We felt a level of comfort with Bob and Joe that we just did not feel with others and signed a contract to have RLS build the dream home we had designed. From start to finish the process was smooth and enjoyable. Bob and Joe helped us with decisions, took care of every detail and solved any issue without worrying us. Their subcontractors and suppliers were all a pleasure to deal with Bob and Joe helped us with changes we made along the way, suggesting where to spend extra and where we could save. When our home was complete, we were within 1% of the original contract estimate. If we build a home again, there will be no interview session this time. RLS built my custom home starting in July of 2019 and finished by Thanksgiving of 2019.  They did an amazing job and exceeded all my expectations. I told Bob that I wanted to be involved in the building process and he was more than happy to accommodate. Bob and Joe were very patient with me and explained everything throughout the process. No matter how extreme my ideas were, Bob and Joe were willing to listen and offer suggestions and advice. I appreciated their on-the-job presence throughout the build.  It was like have a personal advocate supervising and making sure everything was being done to the highest standards. At the completion of the project, my wife and I had very little request for corrections.  The home was ready for us to move into without contractors making multiple return trips to fix miscellaneous items. Bob’s budgets discussed before breaking ground were extremely accurate and made building on a tight budget achievable. What I did not expect was the friendship that was made during this process. When I see Bob or Joe out in Danville, they make a point to stop and talk to me. We have communicated several times on a personal level because they truly do care about the wellbeing of their customers and community. I have recommended RLS to friends and family and would highly recommend them to anyone in the area build their next house.

In early 2020 we started the process of building our home with RLS. We met with Bob Sandberg and started the process. We had an idea of the floorpan we wanted and Bob and his team made the plan come to life. July 2020 construction started on land we owned in Hendricks county. All the staff, subcontractors and suppliers of materials that RLS works with were very professional. The building despite COVID kept going with safety protocols inlace. A few supply chain delays effected the project but the team moved on to other areas of the build and kept things on schedule. Changes in the floor plan while we were underway. After the foundation was poured my wife and I realized that two things needed to be changed. The bedroom needed to be four feet larger and the screened porch needed to be six feet larger. I mentioned it to Bob at 10 in the morning and asked if it was possible. By 4pm that day we were told the changes could be made. Bob had checked with the draftsman and the suppliers to make sure we could get everything to complete the changes in a timely manner. We wanted a lot of special things incorporated in our forever home. I had just retired and my wife would in a few years. Energy efficient, comfortable and a place we could age in place were important to us. All goals were met by RLS in our forever home. Our home is a joy to live in and the team from RLS made it possible!

Dear Bob, As I visually survey our lovely and efficient new home, we are so grateful to you for your guidance, collaboration, expertise and professionalism. The experience of building our new home was truly enjoyable, and Larry and I credit your personal qualities for this nearly as much as your long-term building experience and skills. Now that we have lived in our home for two months, I’d like to share some of our specific impressions with you, as well as anyone that is considering building with you. Exactly one year ago I called for information about a lot in Peacock Ridge, and then I needed a builder to whom I could make some basic inquiries about building costs. I was given your name and called you and two other builders. You were the one individual that answered my questions, came to do a visual inspection of three lots, and generally invested a great amount of time before we even sold our other home. Once we did that, you again gave us your time to help Larry and I make decisions that gave us the confidence that custom building was the right choice for us….and you were the right choice as that builder. The contractors that did the work on our home were talented and reliable. I found the trim carpenter, Rick, especially creative. You scheduled these contractors so effectively and planned every step exceedingly well, making it possible for our home to be completed in four months! I realize our 1975 square foot home is smaller than most you build, but still, that time frame was only possible because you managed all personnel and materials with great efficiency. The work done by every group met our high expectations. When Larry communicated a small “punch list” of items to address after the completion of our home, all of these contractors returned as you asked, to attend to the items as you instructed them. To me this demonstrates a true respect for you as a builder and professional. The entire building process was clear, organized, and interactive. We appreciated your “hands-on” approach of being present on our construction site almost daily, and your constant communication with us. Attention to detail was evident from beginning to end. We chose RLS builders for our new home this year and we couldn't be happier! Bob and Joe Sandberg are a father/son team that want you to truly be happy with your new home. They are wonderful to work with and they have an amazing team of craftsmen working for them. The people I have met during the building process from choosing brick, faucets, kitchen cabinets, appliances,etc were wonderful as well. Everything is perfect down to the very last detail. The RLS custom home team builds a home as if they would live there. The build of our home started in May 2023 with the dig of the basement. I had ideas for the exterior and RLS listened, helped with suggestions and allowed me to help design the home of our dreams. We have been in our home for a month now and I am confident that I made the right choice. It is beautiful inside and out, warm, quiet and just what we always dreamed of. We chose Geothermal for our heat and we are comfortable in every room including the basement. The Anderson windows are beautiful and air-tight. "We recently built a house with RLS Building Corp. It was a great experience because of Bob, Todd, and Brandy. The subcontractors were also great to work with. This was our first custom home, and we had many questions. We appreciated that before anything was ever started, we picked out all our flooring, cabinets, appliances, and plumbing accessories. This helped us to better gauge the amount of our loan for the house; there were no hidden surprises at the end. At the beginning, we were very concerned at where our payment was going to be at once we moved in. The mortgage company and RLS were very good at making us feel comfortable with the decisions that we made and let us know how much room we had to make any additional changes. During the process, we worked very closely with them and made a few changes along the way, and they were very prompt at changing them. They made building fun and easy. Once the house was complete, we still stayed in contact with them. We had a few minor things that needed to be completed and they completed them without hassle. I remember one day in particular; we were having the furnace company out, but one of our children was playing in the Super Bowl. Todd came over and stayed with the technician so we could go to the game. They all became our friends — and friends that we trusted. "RLS Building Corp. just recently finished building my family’s first custom home this past November of 2008. When the keys were handed over and all was said and done, the product delivered was as promised and a touch more. Bob Sandberg and Todd W. of RLS Building Corp. were involved in every step of our homebuilding process, including the design, quote, planning, construction, and finishing, of our custom-built home. Although building a house requires attention and time, I don’t feel in any way, shape, or form that RLS Building Corp. could have made it any easier. My confidence in them only grew as construction continued. They stood by their word, their promises, and their intentions. If they promised a detail, that detail would be there. If they couldn’t promise a detail, they wouldn’t, and then they would tell you they wouldn’t. When quality didn’t occur where it should, RLS Building Corp. was the first person to rip it off, tear it down, or redo it. They wouldn’t stand for anything less than perfect quality as well, which made my worries their worries throughout the entire building process. My profession and personality tend to emphasize extremely high quality and unquestionable attention to details. RLS Building Corp. met my standards, and that says a lot. If I had to invest in another custom-built home, RLS Building Corp. would definitively be my choice. When one invests such a significant amount of finances, time, and energy on any one single project, one only hopes that the point man put in charge will only hold a crumb of that same care and worry on such a huge investment.
